My name is Aaron Johnson – Cinematographer and Camera Operator with a interest in documentaries and occasionally an Assistant Director. Although I was born in Naperville Illinois I spent 19 years of my life living in Jakarta Indonesia and abroad. I moved to Chicago in 2012 to gain my Bachelor of Arts in Digital Cinema at Depaul University. During this time I was an assistant director on a variety of narrative shorts and feature films. My passion however was in cinematography and documentary. Through documentary I work to not only elevate Indonesia’s public profile but to preserve cultures and traditions that risk being lost in time.
